We thought we would figure it out so that we could easily teach her the game and play immediatley with her. Well, we were sadly mistaken. There are portions of the instructions that are very difficult to understand and some that make no sense at all. What was probably a wonderful idea, just did not get the attention it should have. Not only is it hard to figure out, it is a complete game of chance and unless you add your own spin to it, teaches you absolutley nothing about biblical truths or the champions it contains. disappointed Review date: 2008-12-30 Rating: 4 out of 10 I bought this game for my son who is 9 years old. It was very difficult to figure out how to play and after playing it 3 times we have decided that this game was not thought out well enough. It is almost impossible for certian "champions of faith" to win - ie. Moses for instance has to have a certian trial card and item card to obtain a key. My son cried after this last game b/c he did not feel it was a fair game. He felt like it was impossible for him to him. For other champions it is way to easy. We were expecting our son to learn Bible truths, etc. and there is nothing in it to help a person to learn about the Bible more. Some trial cards cause people to lose stats. My husband particularly didn't like that things were taken away. I didn't like that we didn't learn anything. The object of the game is strange. On the positive side, the graphics and artisical detail of the figurines and board game are beautiful. I think that is what drew me the most. Lesson learned: you can't judge a book by it's cover. |
