Review date: 2008-09-14 Rating: 8 out of 10 I have yet to play it but it is not a difficult game to play or catch on to. I played it once and was already addicted! It can be for all ages, working up to how well skilled at strategy the player is. So people of all ages are able to play. And the choo-choo noise made it the deal breaker when I was looking at which games to buy. Mexican Train Dominoes Review date: 2008-09-01 Rating: 10 out of 10 I received this dominoe set in excellent condition and in a timely manner. I would certainly order from them again. Missing and broken pieces Review date: 2008-08-09 Rating: 4 out of 10 This is a great game for adults and children alike. However I would NEVER purchase anything from this company again!!! The "Double 12" domino was completely missing from the set. The train hub does not make sounds as it should, even after changing the battery. The inner sleeve that holds everything in place inside the zipper case arrived cracked so they pieces slide around. VERY POOR QUALITY!!!!! Great Fun for Kids of All Ages!!! Review date: 2005-03-05 Rating: 10 out of 10 My husband and I routinely get together with his parents to play games and they picked up the Mex Train Game a few months back. WE LOVE THIS GAME! It's a lot of fun and easy to learn! We haven't played it with any kids, but it would certainly be easy enough for children and could even have educational value in recognizing colors, patterns, numbers (of pips), not to mention learning to use logic to find the best way to play your tiles. The game is a twist from dominos where players create rows of tiles coming from a centerpiece, sort of like spokes. Each person has their own line where they have to match the tiles with the same number of pips on them and you can play off other's lines at times as well. It can be a long game as you basically play 13 rounds before you are done (unless you make a modification to this plan). Score is kept by how many pips a player has left in his hand after one player uses all of their tiles during a round. At the end of all rounds the player with the lowest score wins. We've played with a few different rule modifications, like re-picking your tiles if you don't get a starting tile and just had a blast. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys games. We also enjoy playing Sequence, Tick, Sorry / Sorry Card Revenge, Scrabble, Poker, etc. Great for Adults too! Review date: 2004-03-03 Rating: 8 out of 10 My parents brought this game to a family weekend - and we played it all weekend! The adults loved it, the kids loved it, and we could all play it together. Was interesting to see who identifies the patterns vs colors vs numbers, but the main thing was that we all had fun. |
